We had a celebration of a birthday yesterday
For a lovely friend of mine with whom I often play.
He’s one of nature’s sportsmen, always plays the game
And even in defeat he always seeks to share the blame!
He will never, ever try to win at any cost
If he cannot win it fair he’d rather that he lost!
He can win with dignity and lose with no excuse.
And he’d never dream of giving anyone abuse!
He is an example of what I like to see
And I hope that others can see the same in me!
