Homeless
This is not the weather to be out and sleeping rough
In a filthy sleeping bag underneath the snow.
In this winter season life is very tough
Yet right wing politicians do not want to know!
They blame the homeless people for the plight they're in
"If they were not so feckless they would be OK,
A love of drugs or alcohol is their besetting sin.
They only have to help themselves." An easy thing to say!
Some have met with problems enough to break the will,
Depression's downward spiral has got them in its grip.
They had not the wherewithal to pay a crippling bill.
They cannot break the spiral so into debt they trip.
There is no easy answer but we should do our best.
To show them some compassion is our biggest test!
