Bias
We all have our opinion, our preference and our view
And we know it colours all we say and do.
Of course we really like it when someone else agrees
But a contrary viewpoint is not inclined to please!
We live within a bubble of self - righteousness and pride
Always feeling that our views should never be denied.
We aren’t inclined to listen and we often turn away.
If we disagree with them we do not want to play!
It is just such prejudice that can lead to strife.
Sometimes, dare I say it, twixt a husband and a wife!
True communication only comes if you can bear
To listen to each other enough to show you care.
You won’t agree on everything that you say and do
But kindly please remember they’ve a right to their own view.
