Mother’s Day
A mother really cuddled you when you had a fright,
Who gave you reassurance when you woke up at night.
She nursed you in your illness and made you feel more like
And cleaned your cuts and bruises when you fell off your bike.
She was the first person you loved with all your heart.
The first one you truly missed when you were apart.
Of course she also was the one who kept you on the path
And when you disobeyed her there was an aftermath!
She shared in all your anguish and cheered for your success
And even when you failed her she didn’t love you less.
Let’s raise a glass to mothers on this their special day
Whether they are with you or have sadly passed away.
