 A Sonnet for Covid 19

Though you’re called Corona you don’t hold a crown
You manifest your menace in many different ways
And you have the power to knock some people down.
You keep us isolated for many, many days.
Our hospitals have pressure like they have never known.
You interrupt our business and our economy.
O’er all the world we gather your bitter seeds are sown.
And there is much horror for our eyes to see.
Yet you can’t defeat us! Our spirits still can soar.
We all help our neighbours when they are in need
We care for other people, which few have done before.
We have now become community indeed!
We can see the worst of you and still our hearts will sing
And when you are defeated the bells of heaven will ring!
