The Sounds of Children Playing
At this time of jollity and great anticipation
People get together all around our nation.
The adults smile indulgently as their kids are on a high
Knowing that there is the chance of salt tears by and by!
They can get up to mischief with a little giggle
And if you try to hold them they are inclined to wriggle!
Still, the sound of laughter and rather boisterous fun
Is a cause for celebration affecting everyone.
As they play with merriment, laughter and with glee
They can lift the spirits of the likes of you and me.
The sounds of children playing at this special time of year
Drive off gloom and bitterness, and even banish fear.
